Dental Care Pets need dental care just like people. We want to stress how important it is to keep your pets teeth clean. Any tartar on their teeth can lead to infections, abscesses, and carried into the liver, kidneys, or heart. Call and schedule a free dental assessment.
Dr. Mary Philippson stresses the importance of annual exams for your pets, especially older pets. Many people "owned" by cats do not believe that cats need yearly exams and visits to the veterinarian. But Dr. Mary wants you to know that although cats are very independent, they are still vulnerable to diseases, even "indoor only" cats. Veterinarians recommend baseline blood tests on all pets and to monitor bloodwork yearly on pets 8 years old and older. Remember, pets age faster than people and some pets may even need blood work monitoring twice a year. These tests are important to screen for things such as kidney and liver changes, thyroid disease, feline leukemia and heartworm disease.
